Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned practices and monstrous changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret group.
The adventure focuses on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Content
This update also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
